The granular detail and accuracy of terrestrial laser scan data makes it the key input for Digital Twins. Some companies perform laser scanning of their real estate assets or construction projects in-house. Others sub-contract their laser scanning projects to 3rd party scanning companies or surveyors. Cintoo Cloud can be used with either of these workflows.

Faro Scene and Hexagon Leica RTC 360 compatibility
With Cintoo Cloud 2.5, you can now import FLS and LSPROJ files in Cintoo Connect to perform the point cloud-to-mesh transformation and the upload, in addition to e57 and Autodesk ReCap RCP files.

Cintoo Cloud is now also compatible with the latest Hexagon Leica RTC 360 via the structured e57 export from Leica Cyclone or Leica Register 360.

The Cintoo Unified Mesh Is Here (public beta)
Now available in beta with a final release due in a few weeks, you can now unify the high-resolution meshes coming from selected scans in a photo-textured 3D mesh, leveraging the power of cloud computing. This Cintoo Unified Mesh can be created from up to 100 scans with a user-defined mesh density, and exported in OBJ, FBX or STL format.

Ideal for desktop modeling and clash detection, Unified Meshes retain the original point cloud's 3D coordinate system, are smaller in size than the source point cloud, and remove the ambiguity of identifying surfaces or objects from disconnected 3D points.

Scan/Scan and Scan/BIM Comparison
You now have the possibility to use Cintoo Cloud's Visual Diff and Visual Check tools to compare your scans to a BIM model to detect and document issues. You can also compare 2 sets of scans to monitor progress or to check the accuracy of the registration.

You can now also select the type of heat map between color gradient and bi-color that will facilitate your visual analysis. The distance adjustment can be adjusted manually by typing a value (new).

More Navisworks data in Cintoo Cloud!

Expanding on Cintoo Cloud's interoperability with Autodesk BIM 360, you can now push your Revit (RVT), Navisworks (NWD, NWC) (new), AutoCAD (3D DWG) or IFC models into Cintoo Cloud for comparisons and to detect issues.

Revised Cintoo Subscriptions

To simplify the Cintoo offering and allow customers to derive more value from the entire Cintoo Cloud platform, functionalities have been recompiled. The main subscription which includes your scan volume is now known as Collaboration, Sharing and Distribution (CSD), and integrates all your scan management, collaboration and sharing tools together with some of the highly-demanded features previously only available to use via a token. So, now, with your CSD subscription:
  • You can now re-export whole datasets, crops or work zones from Cintoo back to structured e57 or unified RCP/RCS point cloud format without having to use a token any more.
  • You can now use the VR-streaming feature to view your scan project (using Occulus Rift/S or HTC Vive gear) in your standard subscription without a token.
  • The advanced features of the shared viewer (adding your logo at the screen bottom, setting an expiration date and password-protection of a shared URL) are also now included as part of your basic subscription.
The advanced tools used to compare scans and models have been clustered together for customers with specific scan-BIM, scan-scan and QA/QC workflows in the Visual Analysis subscription (VA). The VA set of tools is project based. These include:
  • Connecting to BIM 360 to pull your Revit, Navisworks or AutoCAD 3D models.
  • Scan vs model or scan vs scan comparison.
  • Scan-model alignment.
  • Issue tracking and export in BCF.
  • Scan-BIM comparison in VR.
For these VA tools, you can decide to either pay monthly or yearly with unlimited access for 1 or more of your projects for all your team members.

Alternatively, the 24-hour tokens are also available. 1 token unlocks ALL of the VA tools on 1 project for all team members for a 24-hour period.

Single Sign On (SSO)

SSO is now available as an optional functionality (implementation fee required) for Cintoo Cloud customers. SSO permits users to login to multiple enterprise applications with their corporate login credentials (e.g. email and password) including access to their Cintoo Cloud service. SSO can be used by enterprises as well as smaller organizations to mitigate the management of various usernames and passwords.


Larger projects with multiple stakeholders can now choose to have multiple administrators to manage projects. Even if the Cintoo account's principal administrator is unavailable, the co-administrator has the same permissions to invite new Project Managers, increase a scan volume or purchase additional subscriptions or tokens if required.

Automatically add project managers to new projects

There is now an option to automatically add all existing Project Managers linked to an account to any new project created. Instead of having to manually assign key team members who must belong to every new project, they can now be automatically added to all new projects.
